HarvardFeaturedCAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard baseball has released its 2016 schedule, as announced by the Joseph J. O’Donnell ’67 Head Coach for Harvard Baseball Bill Decker on Thursday. The season will mark the 150th in the history of Harvard baseball.

The Crimson will play 12 games at O’Donnell Field in 2016, including five Ivy League doubleheaders. The schedule includes two teams that advanced to the 2015 NCAA Tournament, including Florida, which was one of the final four teams standing a year ago.

Harvard opens the 2016 slate at the Wake Forest Tournament, where it will face Richmond, St. Peter’s, Towson and the host Demon Deacons March 4-6. The Crimson follows up the event with a stretch of nine games in Florida, starting with a three-game series with the Gators in Gainesville. A two-game set with Massachusetts and a four-contest string with Army follow in Clearwater from March 15-19.

The Crimson travels to Fairfield for a four-game series March 25-26, and will face Holy Cross in a single contest March 30 before beginning Ivy play at Cornell on April 2. Following a doubleheader at Princeton April 3, the Crimson will host its first contest of the year at O’Donnell Field, against Northeastern in the first round of the Beanpot.

Columbia and Penn visit Cambridge April 9-10 in Harvard’s first home Ancient Eight contests, and Boston College will square off with the Crimson in a midweek bout April 12. Back-to-back doubleheaders ensue at Yale April 16-17, followed by the Beanpot championship or consolation April 20.

Brown travels north to Harvard for a quartet of games April 23-24, and following a brief trip to UMass Lowell April 27, the Crimson finishes its 2016 schedule with a trio of contests against Dartmouth from April 30-May 1.

Harvard posted an 18-24 mark in 2015, including a second-place finish in the Ivy League Red Rolfe division. Its 18 victories were the program’s most since 2007.
