ConferenceUSALogoCharlotte (3-2):

Charlotte picked up two big wins over the weekend with the first coming over N.C. State 1-0. Sean Geoghegan gave up 3 hits and issue 3 walks over 6 scoreless innings, while striking out six. Their second win came over UNC-Greensboro 2-1. J.D. Prochaska struck out ten over 6.1 innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk. Derek Gallello was 1-4 with an RBI. They were scheduled to play N.C. State again but the game was cancelled due to rain.

Florida Atlantic (9-2):

FAU had a big weekend as they swept Monmouth in convincing fashion. They won the first game 9-5 as Stephen Kerr was 3-5 with 2 runs scored and Roman Collins was 2-4 with 3 RBI. They then shutout Monmouth in back-to-back games 11-0 and 9-0. In the 11-0 win Drew Jackson only gave up 1 hit over 6 innings and Sean Labsan drove in two. In the 9-0 victory Brendon Sanger hit a home run and drove in two, while Christian Dicks stole the show hitting 2 home runs and driving in six. Dicks finished the weekend going 6-10 with 2 home runs, 4 runs scored, 7 RBI and a walk.

Florida International (7-5):

The Panthers won three-of-four against Manhattan this past weekend. They started out the series with a 7-2 win as Brian Portelli drove in three and Cody Crouse went 7 innings, giving up 2 ER on 2 hits and 2 walks with 5 strikeouts. They exploded in game two for a 17-0 win. Andrew Nunez struck out nine over 8 innings and only gave up 3 hits. Portelli was 3-4 with an RBI. Their only setback was a 5-3 loss in the third game. Portelli was 1-4 with a run and Garrett Cave only allowed a hit and 3 walks over 5 innings with 4 strikeouts. The bats came back in the fourth game as they won 19-5. Portelli was 3-4 with 3 RBI, Julius Gaines was 3-6 with a home run, 3 runs and 2 RBI, Jack Schaaf was 2-6 with 3 runs and 2 RBI, and Zach Soria was 2-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. On the weekend Portelli was 8-17 with 4 runs scored, 7 RBI and a walk.

La Tech (5-6):

The Bulldogs won the weekend series against Oral Roberts two games to one. They won the first game 11-3 thanks to a 2-3, 2 run, 3 RBI night from Brent Diaz. Mason Paxton also had a good night at the plate going 2-4 with 2 runs and an RBI. Tyler Clancy took care of things on the mound allowing 3 ER over 8 innings with 5 strikeouts. They won the second game 6-4 as Phil Maton struck out 10 over 6 innings. At the plate Taylor Love was 2-4 with a home run, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Paxton was 2-4 with a run. They dropped the third game 11-2 despite Chandler Hall going 3-5 with an RBI.

Marshall (4-7):

The Thundering Herd won two game against Townson, but lost two against Wake Forest over the weekend. They won their first game 2-1 with J.D. Hammer going 7 innings allowing just 1 ER on 6 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts. Andrew Dundon was 1-2 with an RBI. They won the next game 7-6 as Josh King was 2-4 with 3 RBI and Corey Bird was 3-5 with an RBI. Lance Elder pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk. Bird went 2-4 with 2 runs scored in a 6-5 loss to Wake Forest, and then he hit a solo home run in their 8-3 loss to Wake Forest. In that game Dundon was 1-3 with a run, an RBI and 2 walks.

Middle Tennessee (7-2):

MTSU took two-out-of-three against New Orleans over the weekend. They won the first game 2-1 in 12 innings with Jake Ingold driving in the game-winning run. Dustin Delgado was 2-3 and drove in the other run for MTSU. Johnathan Frebis was solid on the mound giving up just 2 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out seven. In the second game MTSU won 15-2 as Ingold was 2-4 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI, while Delgado was 2-4 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Brad Jarreau also had a good game going 2-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. They failed to complete the sweep losing 8-2 in the third game of the weekend. Michael Adkins was 3-5 with an RBI in the loss. Delgado went 5-12 on the weekend with 3 runs, 4 RBI and 4 walks, while Ingold went 5-13 with 2 runs, 5 RBI, 3 walks and 2 stolen bases.

Old Dominion (2-4):

The Monarchs started out the weekend with a 3-0 win over Rutgers thanks to Greg Tomchick tossing 5 scoreless innings only giving up 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out eight. Nick Walker was 1-2 with a run and 2 RBI. They won the second game 3-2 with P.J. Higgins going 3-4 with a run scored and Taylor Ostrich going 1-2 with 2 RBI. They missed picking up the sweep losing the third game 13-9 despite a late-inning rally. Jason McMurray was 2-5 with a run scored and 2 RBI, while Higgins went 4-5 with a run and 2 RBI. He finished the weekend picking up 8 hits in 12 at-bats, scoring 3 runs and driving in two.

Rice (8-5):

The Owls continued their stretch of tough out-of-conference games taking on Stanford this past weekend. They split the four game series bringing their overall record to 8-5. They dropped game one 5-3 with John Clay Reeves going 1-2 with 3 RBI. The bats broke out in the second game as they won 11-6. Tristan Gray had a big home run in this one going 2-3 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Ford Stainback was 2-2 with 3 runs and an RBI. The Owls then lost a tough one 3-1 before finishing off the weekend with a 12-1 pounding over Stanford. Austin Orewiler went 7.2 innings giving up 1 ER on 3 hits and 3 walks. Reeves was 3-5 with 3 runs and 2 RBI.

Southern Miss (5-4-1):

Troy took game one of the weekend over Southern Miss 6-2, but the Golden Eagles bounced back to win the next two games and the series. In the loss Connor Barron was 2-3 with a run and an RBI. USM scored four runs in the top of the 10th on Saturday to win 6-2. Cody Carroll started the game and went 8 innings only allowing a 1 hit, but he did issue 6 walks. Daniel Keating was 2-2 with a run and 3 RBI. They finished off the weekend with a 5-0 shutout. James McMahon had the pitching performance of the weekend tossing a complete game shutout allowing just 6 hits and striking out eight.

UAB (8-2):

The Blazers won the first game of the weekend over Ohio State 3-2. Adam Smith was 3-4 with a run and an RBI. Alex Luna lasted 8.1 innings giving up 2 ER on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out four. They won the second game 8-1 thanks to another solid outing at the plate by Smith who went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. James Naile was solid on the bump as well only giving up 1 ER over 7.1 innings and striking out six. UAB failed to complete the sweep as the Buckeyes took game three 4-3. Johnny Lieske only gave up 1 ER over 6 innings, and Even Peterson was 2-4 at the plate with 2 RBI. Esteban Tresgallo was 4-5 with a run scored, and Smith capped off his weekend with a 1-4 day at the plate and a run scored. Smith finished the weekend going 6-12 with 4 RBI and 5 runs scored. He had his hand in nine of the Blazers’ 14 runs over the weekend.

UTSA (6-5):

The RoadRunners had a difficult weekend as they got swept in three close games against McNeese State. They lost the first game 6-5 in 10 innings. C.J. Pickering was 2-5 with an RBI, and John Bormann drove in two. They fell in the second game 4-2 despite Kevin Markham going 2-4 with a run and an RBI. They dropped the third game 4-3 with Geonte Jackson going 2-4 with a run scored and Cody Brannon only allowing 1 ER over 5.2 innings and striking out six.

Western Kentucky (5-5):

The Hilltoppers had an excellent weekend picking up a sweep over Southern Illinois. They won the first game 8-6 thanks to Cody Wofford going 2-3 with a run and 2 RBI. Ryan Church drove in two runs as well. They won the second game easily 9-1. John Harman tossed 6 scoreless innings, while only allowing 2 hits and striking out eight. Anderson Miller was 2-3 with 2 runs and an RBI, while Church picked up two more RBI and scored a run. They finished off the sweep with an 11-6 victory. Danny Hudzina was 3-5 with 3 RBI, while Kaleb Duckworth had the big hit of the day blasting a 3-run home run.

Christian Dicks – FAU – 6-9, 2 home runs, 4 runs, 7 RBI and 1 walk
