The West Virginia Mountaineers baseball program was cited for an impermissible phone call on July 6th, 2011 by an assistant coach under former head coach Greg Van Zant. In addition, they had three impermissible text messages between August 1, 2010 and June 21, 2012. Current WVU head coach Randy Mazey was hired on June 6th of 2012. These violations were discovered in a much larger investigation into the West Virginia Women’s Gymnastics and Football program.
