CBDonWhite3This Monday, we release our first Top 25 Poll of the season. It is based on the first weekend of results and who we believe are the top ranked squads in the entire country. You    check out the Top 25 below.

Virginia takes the no. 1 spot in the College Baseball Daily Top 25 rankings.

In the opening weekend of Division 1 play, Virginia went 3-0 against the Pirates of East Carolina, sweeping the three game series.

No. 2 Florida took three against a visiting Kentucky squad to start the season at 3-0.

Reigning national champs, Vanderbilt struggled against a tough Santa Clara team but ultimately took two of three games and rank as the no. 3 team in the nation.

The biggest surprise of the weekend was Florida International taking two of three games against previously ranked Tennessee. With the opening series win, Florida International finds themselves as the no. 22 ranked team in the country.

We have Houston at 6. Don’t think Houston deserves the 3 spot just yet!
