North Dakota State releases 2015 Schedule

NDSUBaseballFARGO, N.D. – The defending Summit League tournament champion North Dakota State University baseball team announced its 2015 schedule on Thursday, Oct. 16. The 52-game regular season slate includes a pair of contests at Arizona and a home-and-home set with Minnesota.

The Bison open the season Feb. 13-15 with three games in Phoenix, Ariz., against Grand Canyon, Bradley and Omaha, before traveling to Tucson for two games with the Arizona Wildcats on Feb. 17-18.

NDSU travels to Port Charlotte, Fla., to play four games Feb. 27-March 1 before heading to Greeley, Colo., for a four-game series with Northern Colorado March 6-8.

The 2015 Summit League slate has been extended from 24 to 30 games with the return of Oral Roberts to the league, and will feature a new double round-robin format consisting of a pair of three-game series among the league’s six teams.

The Bison will have five road and five home three-game series in league action. NDSU plays at Oral Roberts (March 13-15), Omaha (March 20-22), Western Illinois (March 27-29), Fort Wayne (April 3-5) and South Dakota State (April 10-12). North Dakota State will host Oral Roberts (April 17-19), Western Illinois (April 24-26), Fort Wayne (May 1-3), South Dakota State (May 8-10) and Omaha (May 14-16) at Newman Outdoor Field.

NDSU’s home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, against Northern State. Other non-league games include contests at Missouri State (March 18), Minnesota (April 14) and North Dakota (April 28), and home games against Dakota State (April 8), Mayville State (April 15), North Dakota (April 21), Winnipeg (April 23) and Minnesota (May 5).

The top four teams from the regular season will advance to the Summit League championship May 20-23. The winner of the double-elimination tournament will earn the league’s automatic berth in the 64-team NCAA tournament.
