Jacksonville State University head baseball coach Jim Case announced the 2015 Gamecock schedule today with six of the first eight games against teams that made the 2014 NCAA postseason.

The Gamecocks have 30 home games scheduled for Rudy Abbott Field, including the season opening series against Youngstown State on Feb. 13-15. Jax State will also host NCAA Super-Regional participant Kennesaw State the second weekend, before traveling to face the Auburn Tigers for three games the following weekend.

Jax State opens Ohio Valley Conference play in early March by hosting SIU-Edwardsville March 6-7. JSU will also host Eastern Illinois, Tennessee Tech, Belmont and Morehead State in other conference series.

The Gamecocks will host Air Force at the end of March for three-games, while also hosting Alabama A&M, Alabama State, UAB, Troy and South Alabama in other non-conference games.

Jacksonville State became the first school in Ohio Valley Conference history to win six-straight elimination to win the 2014 OVC Baseball Championship to earn the school’s fourth trip to the NCAA Regionals over the last 10 years.

After losing 2-1 in the opening round to fall into elimination bracket, JSU reeled off six straight wins – the longest winning streak of the season – to eliminate every single team to win the school’s fourth OVC Championship and earn a trip to the NCAA Regionals at Ole Miss.
