HawaiiBaseballHONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i Rainbow Warrior baseball team announced its 2015 schedule which includes eight teams from last year’s NCAA Tournament field and another daunting Big West Conference slate.

The ‘Bows will play 53 games, 30 in the friendly confines of Les Murakami Stadium where they ranked 18th in the nation in attendance last season and first in the west region. They kick off the campaign hosting national power Oregon for the fifth straight season, and will also welcome Oklahoma and 2014 NCAA regional participant Cal State Fullerton.

“This is definitely one of the most challenging schedules we’ve had. We pride ourselves on playing as tough a non-conference slate as possible,” said UH head coach Mike Trapasso who enters his 14th year at the helm of the Rainbow Warriors. “In addition, the Big West is also one of the premier leagues in college baseball.”

After a nine-game home stand to start the season, the ‘Bows travel to 2014 NCAA super regional participant Pepperdine before playing in the Houston College Classic (Mar. 6-8) at Minute Maid Park. UH plays Baylor and Nebraska before wrapping up the junket against the host Houston Cougars.

Hawai’i then returns home to host NCAA tournament regular Oklahoma before concluding its home non-conference schedule against former Western Athletic Conference foe New Mexico State.

Big West play opens with a bang for the Rainbow Warriors as they travel to UC Irvine and a match up with the 2014 College World Series participant Anteaters. The ‘Bows then play their conference home-opening series against UC Davis before traveling to another 2014 postseason team in Cal Poly.

Hawai’i then enjoys a two-series home stand against CSUN and UC Santa Barbara before hitting the road once again for a pair of series at Long Beach State and UC Riverside. The ‘Bows play their home finale one week later against 2014 regional team Cal State Fullerton.

With the conference season behind them, the ‘Bows will close the regular season on the road against Abilene Christian and Arizona.
