Florida State looking to regroup

The Florida State Seminoles lost two out of three games this passed weekend against the Virginia Cavaliers. They will be looking to regroup this week before welcoming Big Ten member Minnesota to Tallahassee. The major concern is the health of left-handed pitcher Bryant Holtmann.

The disappointment from FSU’s series loss to top-ranked Virginia at Howser Stadium last weekend might linger for a few days, but there was plenty of good take away from the games, too.

And the Seminoles received good news on Monday regarding starter Bryant Holtmann. The left-handed Holtmann was diagnosed with a left forearm strain – not an injured elbow as initially feared.

Holtmann, clutching his left arm near his elbow, left Sunday’s game in the fourth inning after he threw a pitch. He is expected to be sidelined for six to eight days before he returns to throwing.
