Western Michigan (7-7)-Maine (4-11), Northeastern (4-8) and Georgetown (3-7)

Game 1 – WMU: 2 Northeastern: 1 (10). WP – Derek Schneider LP – Burcroff. WMU starter Steve Laudicina pitched 8.1 innings, only giving up 1 ER on 6 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 6. Schneider pitched 1.2 innings of relief not allowing a hit or walk, while picking up the win. At the plate for WMU, Andrew Sohn was 1-3 with an RBI.

Game 2 – WMU: 4 Maine: 1. WP – Chad Mayle LP – Tommy Lawrence SV – Gabe Berman. Mayle held Maine scoreless over 6 innings despite giving up 8 hits and 2 walks. Kurt Hoekstra was 3-5 with two double and a run scored. Brett Sunde was 1-4 with 2 RBIs.

Game 3 – WMU: 6 Georgetown: 4. WP – Keegan Akin LP – Matt Smith SV – Gabe Berman. WMU leadoff man Andrew Sohn was 3-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.

 

Kent State (7-6)-Liberty (11-6)

Game 1 – Kent State: 2 Liberty: 6. WP – T. Lambert LP – Brian Clark. Kent State second baseman Zach Beckner was 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Game 2 – Kent State: 2 Liberty: 4. WP – P. Bean LP – Eric Lauer SV – A. Perritt. Lauer was good in this one for Kent State despite the loss. He gave up 3 ER on 5 hits and 0 walks, while striking out seven over 6.2 innings. Tommy Monnot was 2-4 at the plate for Kent State with a double and 2 RBIs.

Game 3 – Kent State: 1 Liberty: 9. WP – C. Herndon LP – Andy Ravel. Cody Koch and Zarley Zalewski each had a couple of hits in this one for Kent State, while T.J. Sutton drove in the only run of the game for the Golden Flashes.

 

Miami (Ohio) (4-8)-#10 Louisville (10-4)

Game 1 – Miami (Ohio): 6 Louisville: 4. WP – Seth Varner LP – Filomeno SV – Wynston McMartin. Redhawks left fielder Matt Honchel was 2-4 with a walk, RBI and a run scored. Dan Walsh was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI, while Jacob Wolf was 3-4 with a run scored.

Game 2 – Miami (Ohio): 1 Louisville: 10. WP – Kyle Funkhouser LP – Nathan Williams. Matt Honchel was 1-4 with the Red Hawks’ only RBI of the game.

Game 3 – Miami (Ohio): 0 Louisville: 9. WP – Jared Ruxer LP – Ryan Powers. Scott Slappey and Kendall Johnson were both 2-4 at the plate for Miami.

 

Ohio (4-9)-Longwood (8-9)

Game 1 – Ohio: 0 Longwood: 1. WP – A. Myers LP – Jake Roehn. Both pitchers pitched the entire game in this one, but Ohio pitcher Roehn failed to get the 27th out as Longwood won in walk-off fashion with two outs in the 9th. Roehn was still great in this game for Ohio, allowing just the 1 ER over 8.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out nine. Mitch Longo had 3 of the 4 Bobcat hits.

Game 2 – Ohio: 1 Longwood: 7. WP – B. Vick LP – Jake Miller.

Game 3 – Ohio: 9 Longwood: 1. WP – Jake Rudnicki LP – A. Ellis. Rudnicki was solid in this one, lasting 7.1 scoreless innings, only surrendering 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out seven. Mitch Longo was 3-5 at the plate for the Bobcats with a home run, 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. John Adryan and Garrett Black each hit a home run as well.

Game 4 – Ohio: 2 Longwood: 5. WP – T. Burnette WP – Connor Sitz. Tyler Finkler was 1-2 with 2 RBIs for Ohio.

 

Ball State (10-4)-Kentucky (13-3)

Game 1 – Ball State: 10 Kentucky: 8 (10). WP – Nestor Bautista LP – Ryne Combs. Ball State starter T.J. Weir lasted 6 innings against a tough Kentucky offense, allowing only 3 ER on 6 hits and 5 walks, while striking out three. At the plate, Alex Maloney led the BSU with 3 hits, 2 walks and 4 runs scored. Ryan Spalding was 1-5 at the plate with a walk and 3 RBIs. Zach Plesac was 2-4 at the plate with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. The Cardinals were down three runs in the 9th before coming back to tie it and force extras where they scored 2 runs in the top of the 10th and then held on in the bottom half for the upset victory.

Game 2 – Ball State: 1 Kentucky: 24. WP – C. Shepherd LP – Scott Baker. Elbert Devarie had 2 of the 4 Ball State hits in this one.

Game 3 – Ball State: 2 Kentucky: 26. WP – A. Nelson LP – Clay Mannering. Alex Call was 3-4 in this one for Ball State, while T.J. Weir hit a pinch-hit two-run homer.

 

Akron (6-6)-Austin Peay (6-8) and UW-Milwaukee (3-8)

Game 1 – Akron: 10 Austin Peay: 0. WP – John Valek LP – Ryan Quick. Joey Havrilak, Brady Stewart and Brian Lees each had two hits in this game, with Havrilak and Stewart each adding 2 RBIs. Devan Ahart was 3-5 at the plate with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He and Havrilak each had home runs in this game.

Game 2 – Akron: 4 UW-Milwaukee: 10. WP – Cody Peterson LP – Pat Dyer. Both Devan Ahart and James Meeker were 2-4 with an RBI in this one for Akron.

Game 3 – Akron: 13 UW-Milwaukee: 5. WP – Andrew Fanning LP – Gunnar Eastman. James Sheltrown was 3-4 for the Zips with a two walks, a double, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Joey Hvrilak, Devan Ahart and Brady Stewart each had three hits in this one for Akron.

 

Buffalo (7-3)-Georgia (10-6), Western Carolina (8-5) and North Florida (6-7)

Game 1 – Buffalo: 10 Georgia: 11. WP – Jared Cheek LP – Kevin Hughes. Leadoff man for Buffalo, Jimmy Topps, was 3-4 with 2 doubles, 2 walks, 4 runs scored and an RBI. Nick Sinay was 2-4 with a walk, a run scored and 2 RBIs. Matt Pollock was 2-5 with a walk, a triple, a run scored and 2 RBIs, and Tyler Mautner was 2-3 with a double, a walk and 4 RBIs.

Game 2 – Buffalo: 5 Western Carolina: 4. WP – Anthony Magovney LP – Nate Williams SV – Ben Hartz. Magovney was solid in this one for Buffalo pitching 6.1 innings, only allowing 3 ER on 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out seven. Mike Burke was 2-4 at the plate for Buffalo, driving in two and crossing home plate once.

Game 3 – Buffalo: 3 North Florida: 4 (12). WP – Ryan McMahon LP – Kevin Hughes. The starter for Buffalo in this one, Mike Burke, tossed 7 frames, only surrendering 2 unearned runs, 4 hits and 1 walk. Vinny Mallaro was 2-5 at the plate for Buffalo with an RBI.

 

Toledo (5-8)-Charleston Southern (12-5)

Game 1 – Toledo: 1 Charleston Southern: 2. WP – T. Weekley LP – Ryan Wilkinson. Both pitchers threw complete games with Toledo’s Ryan Wilkinson giving up 2 ER on 7 hits and 0 walks, while striking out four. Tyler Baar was 2-3 at the plate for Toledo with a home run.

Game 2 – Toledo: 3 Charleston Southern: 6. WP – L. Mauldin LP – Kyle Slack SV – A. Weekley. Tyler Baar was 3-4 with a run scored in this one for Toledo.

Game 3 – Toledo: 3 Charleston Southern: 2. WP – Adam Tyson LP – A. Weekley. Toledo scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th to salvage a victory in the weekend series. Deion Tansel was 2-4 for Toledo with a run scored, while James Miglin drove in two.

 

Central Michigan (6-9)-UCF (7-9)

Game 1 – CMU: 7 UCF: 6 (10). WP – Tim Black LP – T. Thompson. After going down 6-0 through the first three innings, the Chippewa bullpen held UCF scoreless for the next 6.1 innings. On offense for CMU, Logan Regnier had a couple of hits and scored a run. Third baseman Noel Santos was 1-2 with a run, an RBI and 2 walks, and Alec Ornelas was 1-2 with 2 RBIs.

Game 2 – CMU: 3 UCF: 2 (10). WP – Tim Black LP – P. Thomas SV – Jimmy McNamara. CMU starter Pat Kaminska went 8 innings giving up 1 unearned run on 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out six. Morgan Oliver was 2-3 at the plate for CMU with an RBI, while Cody Leichman hit a solo home run.

Game 3 – CMU: 5 UCF: 4. WP – J. Petree LP – Nick Deeg SV – T. Thompson. Logan Regnier was 3-3 at the plate for the Chippewas. Tyler Huntey and Neal Jacobs each had a pair of hits for CMU in this one.

 

Northern Illinois (1-12-1)-Oregon State (14-3)

Game 1 – NIU: 0 Oregon State: 6. WP – Ben Wetzler LP – Eli Anderson. Wetzler stole the show in this one, striking out 12 NIU batters over 8 shutout innings, only allowing 1 hit and 2 walks. Alex Klonowski saved NIU from getting no-hit with his double.

Game 2 – NIU: 0 Oregon State: 2. WP – J. Fry LP – Alex Klonowski. Oregon State pitcher Jace Fry tossed a complete game no-hitter, only walking two, while striking out 10 NIU batters. Klonowski was good in this one as well, only giving up 1 hit through 5 innings.

Game 3 – NIU: 2 Oregon State: 12 (7). WP – S. Schultz LP – Jordan Ruckman. Brian Sisler was 2-3 with a run scored for NIU in this one.

Game 4 – NIU: 0 Oregon State: 10. WP – Z. Reser LP – Matt Williams. Ben Neumann came on in relief and held the Beavers scoreless for four innings. Justin Fletcher had a pair of hits for the Huskies.

 

EMU (6-8)-Youngstown State (1-10)

Game 1 – EMU: 4 Youngstown: 5 (10). WP – Charlie Land LP – J. North. Sam Ott was 3-4 with a run scored for EMU.

Game 2 – EMU: 5 Cincinnati: 4. WP – Ben Dartnell LP – Walker SV – Sterling Sharp. Dartnell was solid in relief, going 5 innings and only allowing 1 ER on 4 hits and a walk. John Rubino was 2-5 at the plate for EMU with 4 RBIs and a stolen base.

Game 3 – EMU: 11 Youngstown: 5. WP – Michael Marsinek LP – Manuppelli. Lee Longo was 2-3 with a walk, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored and a stolen base for EMU in the win.

 

Bowling Green State (3-9)-High Point (10-6)

Game 1 – BGSU: 2 High Point: 11. WP – McGillicuddy LP – Cody Apthorpe. T.J. Losby was 1-2 with a run and an RBI for BGSU.

Game 2 – BGSU: 2 High Point: 4. WP – M. Krumm LP – Mike Frank SV – J. Maloney. Jeremy Shay was 2-4 with an RBI for Bowling Green in this one.

Game 3 – BGSU: 7 High Point: 4. WP – Andrew Lacinak LP – A. Scrubb SV – Ethan McKenney. Lacinak gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on just 3 hits and 2 walks over 5 innings for BGSU. Brandon Howard and T.J. Losby each had 3 hits for BGSU in this one.
