2014 CBD TOP 100 COUNTDOWN: 4. Tyler Beede

BeedeLaPhotoCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 4 on our countdown is Vanderbilt junior RHP Tyler Beede. The Auburn, Massachusetts native graduated from Lawrence Academy after being named a consensus high school All-American. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays but decided to head to Vanderbilt to continue his baseball career.

As a freshman, he went 1-5 with an ERA of 4.52 ERA in 16 appearances including 11 starts. He struck out 68 batters while walking 32 batters and holding opponents to a .287 batting average against.

His sophomore season saw drastic improvement as he went 14-1 with a 2.32 ERA while holding opponents to a .187 batting average. He was named a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award while being named a second team All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
