2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 6. Sean Newcomb (Hartford)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 6 on the countdown is Hartford junior LHP Sean Newcomb. The Middleboro, Massachusetts native attended Middleboro High School where he went 9-0 with a 0.46 ERA and three saves as a senior in 58 innings pitched.

As a freshman, he made nine starts while going 2-4 with a 4.17 ERA in 45.1 innings pitched before suffering a season ending injury.

His sophomore season saw him go 5-4 with a 3.75 ERA in 13 appearances (12 starts) while striking out 92 batters in only 72 innings pitched. He walked 37 batters while holding opponents to a .213 average.
