2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 22. Ryan Burr (Arizona State)

RyanBurrArizonaStateCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 22 on our countdown is Arizona State sophomore RHP Ryan Burr from Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Highlands Ranch High School. He was named a two-time All-Colorado and All-State Aflac All-American selection while also being named Rawlings First Team All-American. He had a combined 1.70 ERA and had 95+ strikeouts in consecutive seasons. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 33rd round (1026th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft but decided to head to Arizona State instead.

As a freshman, he made 31 appearances and pitched a team-high 45 relief innings while accumulating a record of 4-2 including 12 saves with an ERA of 2.20. He was able to hold opponents to a .141 batting average.

Burr pitched for the USA Collegiate National Team in the summer of 2013 appearing in 9.2 innings while allowing just two hits and one run with a 0.93 ERA and a .067 opposing batting average over nine appearances.
