Number 29 on our countdown is junior Kevin Cron from TCU. The Phoenix, Arizona native attended Mountain Pointe, High School where he was a three year letter winner. As a senior, he hit a single-season state record 27 home runs with a .560 average and driving in 65 runs. He was picked in the third round by the Seattle Mariners but decided to head to college to play for the TCU Horned Frogs.

As a freshman, he started in 43 games making 30 appearances at first base and 13 as the designated hitter.  He led the team with a .338 average while missing 19 games with an injury.

His sophomore year in 2013 saw him play in 54 games (50 starts) while hitting .208 with two homers and 20 RBI. He struggled with his plate discipline striking out 44 times in only 192 times at the plate.

Cron spent the summer in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Falmouth Commodores. He hit .347 with five homers and 37 RBI. He participated in the 2013 CCBL All Star Game where he went 1-4 with two RBI while being named the West Division MVP.

A coach in the Cape League had the following breakdown on Cron:

He has a big body with light tower power. Also, athletic enough that he can stick at first. The ball jumps off his bat and makes that different sound that all good hitters have.
