College Baseball Daily kicks off our countdown to the start of the 2014 College Baseball season by checking in on the top 100 players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today at number 84 with Washington State outfielder Ben Roberts. After redshirting his freshman season for the Cougars, Roberts was excited to get on the field for Washington States 2013 regular season. Despite his excitement, Roberts ended his first season with the Cougars in mediocre fashion.

Roberts, a versatile outfielder, arrived in Newport for the 2013 summer season after batting .136 with 10 runs scored, three doubles, a pair of home runs, 11 RBI and a pair of stolen bases for the Cougars this spring. It was in the New England Collegiate Baseball League where Roberts blossomed into the player everyone was hoping he would be. In 44 regular season games, he posted a .312 BA with 53 hits and 35 RBI; these efforts landed Roberts a spot NECBL East All-Star team.

The Missoula, Montana native lettered in football and basketball at Sentinel High School, where he also played American Legion baseball. Roberts slugged 17 home runs and added 19 doubles as a member of the 2010 Montana AA State championship team.

Roberts has returned to Washington State and looks to carry his summer success over to PAC-12 play.
