Washington State releases 2014 Schedule

WashingtonStateCelebration2011PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University baseball team is scheduled to play half of its 2014 games at home, including 27 of 28 in Pullman, Cougar Head Coach Donnie Marbut announced, Monday.

The Cougars open their 2014 slate with a three-game series at Cal State Fullerton, a 2013 Super Regional participant, Feb. 14-16, followed by a single game at UC Riverside (Feb. 17).

“We have a great nonconference schedule,” Washington State Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. “Most of the games will be against teams that were in the postseason or on the verge of it last season. Then we get to Pac-12 where we open with the last-two national champions.”

Western Carolina comes to Pullman for a four-game series, Feb. 21-24 for the Cougars’ first home games at Bailey-Brayton Field with its new FieldTurf mound. A four-game series at Cal State Northridge, Feb. 27-March 2 and a three-game home series against Texas State, March 7-9 follows.

Washington State will embark on an eight-game road trip to face Arizona, March 14-16 for three games, San Diego, March 18-19 for two and UCLA, March 21-23 for three.

The Cougars will play the next-12 games in the state of Washington beginning with a four-game nonconference series against San Jose State in Pullman, March 27-30. California comes to town, April 4-6 for a Pac-12 series and Washington State squares off with BYU, April 8 in Pasco for its annual home away from home game. After Oregon State visits Pullman, April 11-13 for a Pac-12 series, the Cougars will travel to Gonzaga, April 15 for the first of three meetings in 2014.

Pac-12 road series at Oregon, April 19 and Washington, April 25-27 are sandwiched around a home game against Gonzaga, April 22. Conference home series with USC, May 2-4 and Utah, May 9-11 wrap around a nonconference road contest at Portland, May 6.

The final road games are scheduled to take place at Gonzaga, May 13 and Stanford, May 16-18. The regular season wraps up against Arizona State in Pullman, May 23-25.

Feb games on campus in Washington ? Hope they have warm gear on!!! . It’s too bad they don’t play som mid-west or eastern teams . I’d like to see that…
