College Baseball Daily kicks off our countdown to the start of the 2014 College Baseball season by checking in on the top 100 players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today at number 90 with Stanford infielder Drew Jackson. As a freshman, Jackson made only 24 starts for the Cardinals and posted a .207 BA with 17 hits and 4 RBI. He singled in his first career game at Rice and proved to be a key role in wins against Texas and Arizona.

Before attending Stanford, the Berkeley, CA native earned three varsity letters in baseball at Miramonte Prep. As a senior he hit .439 with 25 steals, 13 doubles and 3 homeruns which earned him first team all-state, first team all-Diablo Foothill Athletic League and first team all-East Bay. Jackson’s competitive nature is what got him selected in the 37th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants.

During the 2013 summer, this slick fielding shortstop spent his time in the prestigious Cape Cod League where he played for the Cotuit Kettleers. Even though Jackson was one of the youngest players on the roster he was still able to come up with the biggest hit the Kettleers had gotten all season by driving in the winning run against the Bourne Braves to send Cotuit to their fourth CCBL Title Series in six years. While with the Kettleers, Jackson posted a .263 BA in 29 regular season games with 21 hits and 7 RBI.

Drew Jackson returns for his sophomore year and looks to compete for time as the Cardinals shortstop.
