College Baseball Daily kicks off our countdown to the start of the 2014 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today at number 98 with Central Arizona College freshmen first baseman Manny Ramirez, Jr from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Now, we all know this kid mainly because of his father, who had a pretty decent career in the Majors.  While attending IMG, the little Manny had a stellar performance in the Cleats Sports Classic back in March; his numbers for the tournament were a .522 average, 15 RBIS and nine runs scored, allowed IMG to win the title.

The 6-foot-4, 200 pound athlete secured a .331 average and 36 RBIs over his three yers as a player for the IMG Academy and was named to Rawlings’ 2013 Florida All Region First Team. Despite his famous father and some impressive stats, BleacherReport’s Adam Wells said that the little Ramirez “Is not a prospect” for the MLB. Wells goes on to say that the younger Manny is “not very athletic” and is only limited to playing first base.

Check out Manny Ramierz, Jr. in an IMG video and decide whether you think he’ll be a chip off the old block or not.
