“I feel like we have put together another great schedule,” UT Arlington coach Darin Thomas said. “It should be challenging for our kids.”

The Mavericks take on regional powers Texas A&M of the SEC and Oklahoma out of the Big 12 on the home field of the Texas Rangers. UT Arlington takes on the Aggies on March 4, with the Sooners visiting Rangers Ballpark on March 11.

The season opens at home in the four-team UTA Invitational running Feb. 14-16. The Mavericks welcome the Big 12’s Oklahoma State, and Southland Conference members Stephen F. Austin and Incarnate Word opening weekend.

UT Arlington also hosts the UTA Hilton Invitational March 7-9 at Clay Gould Ballpark. Participating teams are Missouri State, Abilene Christian and Utah.

The nonconference schedule includes games at Baylor (Feb. 18), McNeese State (Feb. 21-23), TCU (Feb. 25 and May 13), Houston Baptist (April 8), Texas (April 15) and Oklahoma (April 22). Non-league home games are: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 28-March 2), Utah (March 10), Sam Houston State (March 18), Baylor (March 25), TCU (April 1) and Houston Baptist (April 29).

The Sun Belt season opens at rival Texas State in a three-game series March 14. The Sun Belt home-opening series is March 21 against Arkansas State. The Mavericks close out SBC play at home with a three-game set against Texas State starting May 16.

The Mavericks are coming off a 31-27 season that featured a share of the Western Athletic Conference title. UTA has won conference titles the last two years, winning the Southland Conference Tournament championship in 2012.
