As we reported back in January of 2013, North Texas is becoming serious about adding a baseball program. On Tuesday, the North Texas regents finance committee approved a budget of $600,000 to fund the startup of a baseball program.Â
North Texas AD Rick Villareal will meet today with the baseball committee on the next step to adding the program. The Baseball committee has been raising money for a new stadium across from the Mean Green Athletic Facility.
The plan also will have to include the startup of a women’s program to stay in compliance with Title IX.
