AndrewRevelloST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The St. Bonaventure University community is mourning the loss of redshirt junior Andrew Revello, 22, who died Wednesday as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident June 1 in Butler Township, Pa.

A native of Highland Heights, Ohio, Revello was an accounting major and a starting pitcher on St. Bonaventure’s baseball team.

“Andrew Revello — Dice, to his teammates — was a tireless worker, good student and a joy to be around,” said Larry Sudbrook, SBU’s baseball coach. “He was always willing to share his opinion on anything sports related and enjoyed the give-and-take as much as his teammates. Dice loved St. Bonaventure baseball and it loved him back.”

This past season, Revello led the team in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts and was expected to head the Bonnies’ pitching rotation in 2013-14.

“We are profoundly saddened to hear of Andrew’s passing,” said Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., university president. “He was a tremendous representative of this university. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, as well as to his teammates and members of the St. Bonaventure community with whom he developed such a strong and lasting bond.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, at St. Paschal Baylon Parish, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights, Ohio. Friends will be received at the church an hour before the service.
