MALIBU, Calif. — For the second day in a row, Seton Hall’s starting pitching shut down Pepperdine. The Pirates claimed their second win of the season behind 6 1/3 strong innings from Josh Provost Saturday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium.
Provost allowed only four hits through six innings and left with a 2-0 lead after Bryan Langlois singled in the seventh inning on Prevost’s 86th pitch. Langlois advanced to third on a groundout and a wild pitch. Ranny Lowe got the Waves on the board with a dribbler down the line for an infield single.
However, Pepperdine stranded a runner in scoring position in each of the final two frames as Brian Gilbert locked down the save for the Pirates.
Seton Hall took the early lead in the second inning. A wild pitch brought home a run after a pair of singles put runners on the corners. The Pirates added a second run off Waves starter Corey Miller in the sixth inning when Zack Weigel hit a sac fly with the bases loaded.
Miller was able to get out of the jam thanks to a nice running catch in centerfield by Lowe, but Scott Kalamar made the Waves pay for an error in the seventh inning. After Alex Falconi reached on a throwing error, Kalamar doubled just inside first base to give the Pirates an extra insurance run that coach Rob Sheppard said was crucial.

Sounds like quite a series .I wish i could have made it there . I imagine thw eather was near perfect for Baseball. It takes some getting use to the- Pepperdine uniform !!! who came of with the logo’s and Circus colors ? . I know UA made the uniform did they have input ? …..hmmm undecided is I ever liked the uniforms .
on the other hand …Eddy D field looks great !!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for not replying back sooner Jimmy. The Pepperdine uniforms were made by Under Armour last year. Last year was the 75th anniversary for Pepperdine’s school and they decided to go with retro uniforms. Working with Under Armour, coach Rodriguez came up with the throwback uniforms that a prior Pepperdine team had worn (I believe in the 80s) — a look they took from the Houston Astros rainbow uniforms.
Seton Hall actually has the same uniform design with a light blue and dark blue color pattern rather than orange and blue. The Pirates wore them during the series opener on Friday, but wore grays on Saturday when Pepperdine wore its rainbows.

My Boy, and some of his Div 1 friends are playing summer ball south of Peperdine. San Diego Waves – good league ? good team and such ? ….seems to be ….. nice weather anyway !!! LOL !
