13regionalprojections_smThe season hasn’t kicked off yet but it is time to start looking at how a potential 64 team bracket would look right now based on our preseason expectations of each conference. The last two years, we have hit on 20 out of 31 hosts (ASU appeal is the outlier). Remember, that these are just based on our projections and expectations for what we will happen come May 27th. We will release our new projections every Tuesday until the end of the season.

Florida is fascinating to me. The lost a lot but I love their freshman SS Richie Martin. Everyone is high on Jonathan Crawford as their “ace” and I like him but he doesn’t have a long track record so he could bust; I hope not. Karsten Whitsen is another wildcard and whoever ends up starting Sunday yet another. Can Taylor Gushue hit as the new full time catcher? He won’t be Zunino most likely. These guys could make a run at Omaha but could just as easily miss the field of 64 completely. I think Vandy wins the SEC, but Arkansas is very close.

The Atlantic Sun has several really good teams this year.It should be a real battle for the conference crown.I’m in agreement with your Mercer pick for the championship. They have the bats with Backlund,Workman,Young and Moorhouse.
Do you see them moving past the regionals?
