Number 47 on our Top 100 Countdown is Oklahoma’s Max White. The 6’1 center fielder from Durant, Oklahoma was a 2012 First Team All-Big 12 selection.

During his freshman season in 2010, White appeared in 62 games for the Sooners, 52 of which he started. Throughout the season, White posted a batting average of .293 with 15 home runs and 43 RBI. His success earned him a variety of awards including being named honorable mention All-Big 12 as well as a Freshman All-American by Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and NCBWA. During his sophomore season, White appeared in 46 games in which he posted a batting average of .286 with 11 doubles and 20 RBI.

Throughout his junior season in 2012, White started in 66 of the 67 games he appeared in, where he posted a batting average of .337. White also had 55 RBI on the season in addition to 17 doubles and a slugging percentage of .444. He was awarded Second Team All-Region as an outfielder and First Team All-Big 12 as a utility player.

From a scouting perspective, White is a fantastic utility guy. So much so, that he’s started in nearly every position for Oklahoma including first base, second base, third base, left field, center field, right field, and designated hitter. White has solid power at the plate as well as a good approach and great athleticism, making him a player who can hit nearly anywhere in the order for a team.  His extreme versatility alongside his consistency, at Oklahoma make him one of the top players to watch for in 2013.
