Manti Te’o happens in College Baseball

RothCelebrationSouthCarolinaUnless you have been living under a rock this week, you have heard that Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o was part of an elaborate internet catfishing scandal throughout the 2012 college football season. This type of situation happened to former South Carolina pitcher Michael Roth a couple of years ago.

Roth describes how he got a random text message after the 2010 College World Series while playing with the Sanford Mariners in the NECBL. He continued talking to this person for the next year but never ended up meeting up with her.

Do you know of any other players that have been Catfished?
