Indiana’s Jonny Hoffman removed from Roster

The Indiana Daily Student Paper reports that Hoffman was charged with a Class C felony of drug dealing, according to state case records.

Hoffman was arrested on Dec. 8, 2012, in Bloomington on suspicions of distributing marijuana, salvia, hash oil or other synthetic cannabinoid substance. Charges were filed on Friday at Monroe Circuit Court 5.

Indiana senior relief pitcher Jonny Hoffman has been removed from the team roster according to a press release sent out by Indiana Media Relations for a violation of team standards. Hoffman appeared in 29 games last season for the Hoosiers with eight wins and five saves.

He pitched this summer in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox where he tossed 18 innings going 2-1 with a 6.50 ERA in 13 appearances.
