Top 100 Countdown: 84. Jared King (Kansas State)

JaredKingKansasStateFeatured2College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2013 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country.

We continue the countdown today at number 84 with Kansas State junior outfielder Jared King from Dublin, Ohio and Jerome High School. As a senior in high school, he hit .574 (58-for-101) as a senior with 15 doubles, one triple, five home runs and 26 RBI while being named All-State.

His freshman season in 2011 saw him play in 50 games (48 starts) while hitting .307 with eight homers and driving in 40 runs. He was also solid on the basepaths by stealing 13 bases in 16 attempts.

As a sophomore in 2012, he led the Wildcats and the Big 12 in hitting with a .377 batting average while hitting seven homers and driving in 47. He was good on the basepaths with 16 stolen bases in 20 attempts.

I would think the first line of each of these players should be their name, where they play and their position. Without checking Kansas State’s roster on my own, I have no idea what position this kid plays. Just sayin’…
