UGA’s Kyle Carter transfers to Juco

KyleCarterUGAGeorgia freshman pitcher Kyle Carter has decided to transfer to a junior college according to an article from WTVM.com. Carter was suspended by Georgia head coach David Perno for the first 18 games of the 2013 season after being arrested in November for charges of public intoxication and underage possession of alcohol. It was Carter’s second arrest in his short time in Athens as he was previously arrested for and charged with possession of a weapon in a school zone, a felony, and misdemeanor simple assault after he allegedly threatened a woman with a baseball bat Aug. 19. Carter denied he threatened the woman and said he was only trying to get her to leave his dorm room.

Carter can play this spring at the JuCo school and return to Georgia for the 2013-2014 season but he could be taken in the 2013 MLB Draft as Junior College players are eligible for the draft.
