BOWLING GREEN, Ohio—The Bowling Green State University baseball program, under Head Coach Danny Schmitz, has announced the 2013 baseball schedule. The schedule features 55 games, including 20 games at the friendly confines of Warren E. Steller Field. The Falcons will finish the season by playing eight of their final 11 games at home.

The first month of the schedule will be played away from home, as the Falcons begin the season in Bowling Green, Ky. for the second time in three seasons. After a three-game series with Western Kentucky (Feb. 15-17), the Falcons will travel to Murray, Ky. for a three game set with Murray State (Feb. 22-24). After a midweek game with 2012 NCAA tournament participant Dayton, the Falcons will begin their Spring Trip in Cookeville, Tenn. The Falcons will play three against the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech (March 1-3) before continuing on to Winter Haven, Fla. for four games.

The Falcons will open up the home portion of the schedule on March 13 (Wednesday) when Malone College comes to town. Last season, the Falcons downed Malone 24-11 at Steller Field. Following that game, the Falcons will head back on the road for a four game set versus Illinois State.

Mid-American Conference play will begin on March 22, when the Falcons play host to Western Michigan. The Falcons will play 15 home MAC games in 2013, while playing just 12 road games. Besides Western Michigan, the Falcons will host Eastern Michigan (April 5-7), Akron (April 19-21), Miami (May 3-5), and Buffalo (May 16-18).

The four road series in the MAC will be at Central Michigan (March 29-31), Toledo (April 12-14), Kent State (April 26-28), and Ohio (May 10-12).

The Falcons will play home and home games with Dayton, Wright State, and Ball State in non-conference midweek action. They will also play midweek games at Michigan, Notre Dame, and Xavier, as well as a home midweek game vs. Northern Kentucky.

The 20 home games will be the most games at Warren E. Steller Field since 2009. Last season, the Falcons were 10-7 at home, while going just 10-26 away from home.
