Washington extends Head Coach Lindsay Meggs through 2017

SEATTLE – Washington baseball coach Lindsay Meggs has received a three-year contract extension through the 2017 season, athletic director Scott Woodward announced today.

Meggs, who was initially signed to a five-year contract prior to the 2010 season, had two years remaining on that original deal prior to this extension.

“I’m very happy to have extended my contract,” said Meggs. “This, along with the major construction projects we’ve undertaken, show that the athletic department’s commitment to the baseball program is at a high level.”

The Huskies had their highest wins total (30) since 2008 this past spring, finishing 30-25 overall and perhaps only a couple of victories from earning the program’s first postseason berth since 2004.

Washington opens its fall practice this weekend and holds its annual alumni weekend Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28-29.
