Moscot, Given Discuss Pepperdine’s Series Opening Win at LMU

Jon Moscot picked up his fifth win.LOS ANGELES — Floyd “Granpappy” Given had a three-run double and a solo home run to lead the Pepperdine Waves to an important 6-3 West Coast Conference win over Loyola Marymount Friday afternoon at Page Stadium.

Given’s four RBI gave Pepperdine (31-19, 13-6) starting pitcher Jon Moscot all the support he needed. Moscot pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing three earned runs on seven hits and three walks. Eric Karch finished off the gave, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings allowing only two hits while striking out one. He earned his first save of the game.

After Pepperdine pushed LMU (23-25, 11-8) to a must-win situation for the remainder of the Lions conference scheduel, I chatted with Moscot and Given about the big WCC win.
