FWIW, Upstate and Stetson don’t meet up until next weekend.

MM25RSN April 23, 2012 - 11:36 am

Thank You.  I was looking at SC Upstate’s schedule and their next weekend series was Stetson and did not see that it was 5/4-5/6.  Assumed they would not take an entire week in the middle of season.  But you know what happens if you assume.

Big Blue Wildcat12 April 23, 2012 - 12:38 pm

I anticipate TX ST to make a major turn around in the SLC and see them taking the next 12 of their last 14 games (either sweeping the remaining 4 conference series and losing to A&M and Baylor or finishing their last 12 conference games at 11-1 and picking up a win against Baylor or @ TX A&M).  Their # 1/2/3 non-conference stud, Mitchell Pitts got injured after allowing only 2 runs to Rice (of which arguably should have been ruled errors instead of hits) and if he is back in the pitching rotation to finish off their last 2 non-conference games vs. Baylor and TX A&M or even in time for conference tournament I anticipate them winning the conference tourney and being an underdog and decent competitor in Super regional play.  Any idea on his anticipated return or any thoughts?

Don’t expect him to return

There are 4 pretty darn good clubs in SLC.  Sam Houston has just been more consistent especially in league than SE Louisiana, UT-Arlington and Texas St.
All 4 of those clubs are on the verge of at large bid.  I just saw that
SE Louisiana is 8-0 vs 50 RPI clubs according to warrennolan.com.  That
is very impressive.

If you look at Texas State’s remaining SLC schedule they will be favored
each series  that is for sure with all 4 remaining opponents below
.500.  They can not lose any more series either or their RPI
will probably not be low enough.

Sam Houston still has series at UT-Arlington and vs SE Louisiana.

SE Louisiana has series at Sam Houston

UT-Arlington host Sam Houston.

So the schedule really favors Texas St but they need some major help.
Id probably be pulling for Sam Houston to sweep either SE Louisiana or
UT-Arlington if i was a Texas St fan.  Being 6 games out with 12 to go
cant see how they could catch Sam Houston so getting into the top 3 is
going to be really important.

That’s a bold statement.  This board is littered with jinxes.  Better watch out.

MM25RSN April 26, 2012 - 11:38 pm

LOL jbro17 learned his lesson!!!!  I tried to tell my buddy who is an assistant what he needed to do last week and he did not do it and they got swept.

GOVSDAD19 April 24, 2012 - 7:54 am

you should start looking at Austin Peay State they are 24-15 and 11-3 in the OVC

MM25RSN April 25, 2012 - 9:24 am

I have been keeping an eye on Austin Peay for over month.  They are having a good season but right now not too close.  While i do not use the RPI in determining who gets in and who does not if you look at Austin Peay its not good.

vs 1-50 (0-0)
vs 51-100 (5-4)
vs 101-200 (9-9)
