UNC: Visitors 5 Home 0

Chapel Hill, N.C.- The visiting Tar squad scored solo runs in the second and seventh innings and three in the fifth to take a 5-0 win over the home Heel squad on Friday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.

A pair of lefties started the scrimmage on the mound as Kent Emanuel took the mound for the Heel team while R.C. Orlan started for the Tar squad.

The Tar squad scored three runs in the top of the fifth off of starter Kent Emanuel.

Georgia Southern: Blue 10 White 5

STATESBORO, Ga. – Scooter Williams (Detroit, Mich.) and Styker Brown (Dalton, Ga.) combined for nine hits at the top of the order to lead the Blue team to a 10-5 win over the White team in the first of three baseball scrimmages this weekend. Brown went five-for-five with three RBIs, while Williams finished the nine-inning scrimmage with four-straight hits.

Chris Beck (Jefferson, Ga.) pitched three full innings to help the Blue team jump out to a 3-1 lead. Beck faced 13 batters, struck out four and allowed just one unearned run on two hits. Josh Stevenson (Social Circle, Ga.) came on in the ninth with a two-run lead and set the White team down in order.

    There were 15 scouts and other personnel in Statesboro yesterday.  If Beck and Roache dont play to scouts GSU should have very good year.  Roache wont come close to 30 HRs this year though.
