  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_UL6ZZMEGXPBIY7GZKYY2V5BCMI Passion And fun

I have been to a few scouting events this fall and I have seen this RHP Luke Shearrow from John A. Logan College in southern IL,  throw and he looks really good!  This guy is definitely MLB stock.  He’s 6′ 4″ 190 lbs. and wears a size 15.5 shoe.  He is not quite 100% recovered from Tommy John 14 mos. ago and he is already pumping a 92 mph two seam that really moves and has nice change up to back it up but it’s his slider that is just plain sick!  This kid looks really good and there was genuine excitement from every scout there, both Pros and D-1, when this kid took the mound and started throwing.  I think this kid is under the radar and is going to sneak in with a team and be a real find.

…may want to check out a new guy at South Dakota State  University( Jordan Varga )  . He plays the corners, left hand bat  …only a freshman this year , but will be one to watch this year . !!

Did Kris Bryant from University of San Diego make it into your top 100 ? He was the West Coast Conference Player AND Freshman of the year along with Gonzagas Marco Gonzalez as he led the WCC in BA and HR and was second in SB as well as the top 5 in several other offensive categories. He was also a Baseball America Freshman 1st Team All-American and made Louisville Sluggers 1st team freshman and 3rd team All NCAA . Any love there?

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

I don’t comment on who is on or off the list until the end of it.

        good idea here Brian .

  • Midwest Scout

How about Mike Moore from Lee University transfer from Lindenwood University #16 in nation in hitting 433avg with 203 at bats. Has power to all fields can run and  plays any position on the field. Very strong, quick, and smart player.

  • Alex Orr

Are we going to see Hudson Randall on this list?  I sure hope so!

Not much outta the northeast this year.. Fischer at UConn maybe?

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

He is good but I think Mazzilli is a MUCH better player. The talent is really down in college baseball especially with the 2012 MLB Draft eligible players Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

  • ball gal

Not a lot of guys from mid-majors on this list. I’ve been checking (almost daily) for one or 2 guys frome TXST that I would rank higher than Andrew Stumph. Still waiting.

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

Texas State is one team that we are fairly confident in saying we have seen them enough. William Knox sees them upwards of 10 times a season! Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

      • ball gal

The intent of my post wasn’t that you had not seen (or covered) the team but that there are more players with as good, or better, potential as Stumph, that I felt should have been included. As stated, I’m still watching and waiting.

  • Natchmpfan

Thank God your list does not have anything to do with the 2012 draft or college baseball at all. It is just another list from some guys that probably never played one lnning of ball at the college level. Thanks for the laughs

  • pryorrobertson

Where is DJ Baxendale from Arkansas????

    • TheKingFish

There are still 38 players left he will definitely be there.

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

We do not comment on a player on or off the list before the list is completed.

    • Roro45

      Dan Gulbransen of Jacksonville University
He got on Base 11 of 12 plate appearances in the NCAA Regionals and got “NO” love from All Tournament team.  I said 11 of 12 opportunities!!!  No player in entire NCAA tournament can say they did better in regionals.  Look it up!!  He hit .300 in the Cape and was the unofficial Captain and Leader of Hyannis team.  His team also won the regular season championship in Cape for 1st time in 30+ years.  Lifetime .380 hitter in college and excellent defender.  Please help to evaluate this kid for me and explain how he doesn’t make anyones list.  Oh yeah 4.0 GPA throughout college.

      • Jones

You tell them. Can someone tell me how he isn’t drafted yet?

    • john

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

I forgot to update this page…..

  • LB

I’m suprised that Andy Henkemyer (Minnesota) and Blake Schwartz (Oklahoma City) aren’t on the lower part of the list, but I’d be shocked if they were in the upper part.

*6 for 8 (w/ HR and 4 BB) against these Top Teams (Miami & Florida) in 2011

  • joey

Toby DeMello from St. Marys will go high in the draft. He back picked 11 runners last year and is better than most pro catchers.  I think St. Marys will probably be in the running this there in the WCC returning their whole starting line up except for shortstop.  Beware of the Gaels!!

  • Cdb926

The real surprise for me so far is Christian Walker @ #41.  Led SC in Avg, HR, & RBI.  Huge power potential.  I was thinking it would be a while before he appeared and that was not the case.  Great list though and truely enjoy reading the info and the site in general.  Thanks.

  • david

shaun cooper from utah… had a huge summer in the northwest league and should  at least be 100

  • GamecockBaseball

Did you stop doing the list??

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

      Nope….updates everyday!

  • AZ Baseball Fan

You might follow Cody Gray  Central AZ College    Go on internet.  Good stats 13 and 1 for last year,  ERA at 2:00 for year, Pitched 2 games at JC World Series in Grand Junction in June  Won both games. Throws in low 90’s with 3 good pitches.  Good command and throws strikes.  Watch this upcoming season as he will probably have a great year.  MLB will  be on the radar.
Read about him as the Internet follows him and his progress.  Told he is going to UNLV next year.
    Thanks,

  • CT

Where is Brandon Thomas from GA Tech?

  • sec fan

Brandon Thomas from Georgia Tech… Easily top 20 missing some key players.

  • Lmphk53

Surprised to see UF’s Tucker omitted.  Was on your list last year

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

I guess I can talk about Tucker.

I did the list during the summer and expected him to sign so I didn’t include him. After MLB signing day, I went back in and added guys that didn’t sign and totally blanked on Preston coming back…he should have been on the list and admit I screwed up. I would of had him around 18. Have you not heard of Preston Tucker of Florida ?

  • asualum75

You missed a ton of guys!! How about Jake Barret or Brady Rodgers from Arizona State. Even Soph. Trevor Williams

  • Pants

Wheres the utah love… Cooper I think was the national summer player award winner and brooks is a machine.

Could be different come Pac12 however… and perhaps they are not exactly top 100…

    ok.. i’ll go away now.

  • bostonfan12

What about Stewart Ijames RF from University of Louisville?  He’s been consistent for them and is entering his senior season. He got drafted in ’07 out of high school by the Brewers and in ’10 by the Yankees in the 29th round.  Not sure why he didn’t get drafted last year, but it could have done with him having one more season of eligibility left.

    Thoughts?

    • Sgodso

      This is college…

  • JOHN316_1965

I REMEMBER MY 2 SONS RJ AN ANDREU COMING HOME AND TELLING ME HOW CHRISTIAN WALKER WAS HITTING BOMBS OVER THE FENCE AT A LOCAL FIELD. 3 THINGS THAT JUMPED OUT AT ME WERE THE FENCES ARE 1. DEEP(370 LEFT, 400 LEFT-CENTER) 2. HE USED A WOODED BAT.   3. HE WAS ONLY 16 YRS. OLD THEN HE HELPS LEAD SOUTH CAROLINA IN A CHAMPIONSHIP AS A FRESHMAN. HE LEADS THE TEAM IN ALL OFFENSIVE CATS. HIS 2ND YR. HE IS THEN A 1ST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN 1ST BASEMAN AND YOU RANK HIM 41ST. I JUST WISH U WOULD LIST POSITIONS ALONG WITH RANKING SO IT WOULD BE EASIER TO SEE WHO IS A  P. C. SS. CF, ETC.

  • Homestarunner547

    Michael Lorenzen at #61?…

  • Fred

You guys might want to look into Marco Gonzales from Gonzaga…

  • Danstephens

you need to look at kid from Tennessee Tech 1B Zach Stephens, hit 309 as fresh
49 rbi 10 homers , Coastal Plains all star MVP ,

  • diamondintherough

Here’s a sleeper for you. Left-handed hitting catcher. Started at Western Carolina. Limited time but batted .365. 6′-1″, 195 lbs. Very athletic and quick. Very quick release with good arm- 1.8 in-game pop. Transferred back home to Butler, sat out last year, back on the field, batting .380 with right around .500 Slg and OBP. Great leader, tremendously intelligent player, and outstanding work ethic. Last name is Haddad. Keep an eye on this kid.

  • Ernie

cody smith from sdsu is amazing was a freshman all american is a prototypical five tool player he should be on this list and continuing to do the same for the aztecs his sophmore year.

  • gc

Martin Agosta from Saint Mary’s should be up here.

  • LSUbaseballfan

Wow…where the heck is Raph Rhymes(LSU) Raph right now has a 489 average best in the nation and u put mike zunino from Florida in the top 5? This list is definately not updated by anyone who knows anything about baseball and another thing..SEC is by far the best conference in baseball they should have a lot more players from the SEC…

  • bovice

Where in the world is Alex Yarbrough????  If he’s not one of the top 100 in the country, then I don’t know what you have to do.  He’s still hitting about .430 in the SEC, the best league in baseball as well, and only has one error all year at 2B.  Not many hitters in the country I’d rather have at the dish with RISP.

  • Coach Z

Charley Boring RHP sleeper in 2012 draft, 91-95 mph 6’4″ 205lbs late movement easy delivery

  • Ec462

What about Brent Bonvillain from LSU. 2.3 ERA, 25 innings, 25Ks, only allowed 4 extra base hits. Came back to defeat Florida and shut down Kentucky in relief.

    • http://collegebaseballdaily.com Brian Foley

This list was done in the preseason as we count down to the start of the season!

Can’t believe the Catcher for UCLA, Tyler Heineman, is not on this this list! Have you ever seen him play?

  • Matthew1920_2005

I give you credit with some of the players on this list…but you’ve got several players that are not on the list that rank highest in the nation in their position. There is pitcher Chris Stratton, from Mississippi State, who has 9-0 in wins, 101 strikeouts (tied for 3rd in the nation), 2 complete games including a shutout. That’s just an example, like I said a lot of good players on the list, but how can you exclude players like Chris Stratton for pitching. That’s including Hudson Randle also.

Not to mention, Gausman is projected top 3 picks overall in every mock draft I’ve come across. Maybe worthy of a little higher than 27th overall..

I keep seeing Ryan Gebhart, CF for Florida Gulf Coast University on scouts’ list.  He’s a legitimate 6.5 60 guy, plays great defense, plus arm and is a switch hitter.  Has played Florida, FSU, Miami, and other ranked teams and excelled.  May not be top 100….don’t have the whole picture, but he’s worth checking out.  I heard that he graduated in 3 years from Missouri and went to FGCU to get more exposure to scouts.

Also a CF from Florida International Univ named Pablo Bermudez.  Good speed, 6.7, hits to all fields, strong arm.  Like Gebhart, has some pop in his bat.

I have both projecting in top 10 rounds of draft.

  • 2asawchak2

Where is Nick Petree of Missouri State he has a 0.92 ERA!!!!!!!!
