CNN profiles GT’s Colby Wren
Georgia Tech sophomore Colby Wren was featured on CNN’s “The Human Factor” where he discussed a genetic mitochondrial disease, for which he serves as an ambassador. Kentucky releases 2012 Schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky baseball team will play 34 games at Cliff Hagan Stadium and will face a grueling 30-game Southeastern Conference schedule for the 2012 season, it was announced by fourth-year UK head coach Gary Henderson on Monday.
“We are excited about our 2012 schedule,” Henderson said. “The team had a great, productive fall and is going to be fun to watch during the spring. Northwestern releases 2012 Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. – Home series against Nebraska, Illinois, Purdue and Indiana as well as a contest at Miller Park in Milwaukee highlight the 2012 Northwestern baseball schedule announced today (Dec. 5).
The Wildcats open their slate Feb. 17-19 as they take part in the Big Ten/Big East Challenge in St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Fla., facing West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Seton Hall. We continue the countdown today at number 49 with NC State junior RHP Chris Overman. The Charlotte, North Carolina native attended Myers Park High School. As a senior, he was named to The Charlotte Observer’s All-Mecklenburg team. He also brough the team to a Myers Park to a 19-9 record and the Southwestern 4-A Conference tournament championship, pitching a complete game in the tournament championship game. Jake Watson leaves South Carolina Program
South Carolina backup sophomore infielder Jake Watson has decided to transfer to Louisburg Junior College to continue his baseball career. He joins infielder Mikal Hill (Miami-Dade JC) and outfielder Reid Moman to leave the program at the end of the semester. Watson appeared in 10 games during 2011 going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. He walked once, struck out once, stole a base, and without making an error in the field. CJ Hinojosa will NOT attend Texas this spring
Incoming Texas recruit CJ Hinojosa will not join the baseball program this spring according to multiple CBD sources close to the situation. He was expected to join the squad for the spring semester as he was planning on graduating from high school early. In the past few weeks, we have had multiple sources state to us that there was some concern that there was some academic concerns with the player.
CJ will be eligible for the 2012 MLB Draft and will probably be selected high enough that he will not be attending Texas.
Creighton releases 2012 Schedule

Bruce Johnson added to Western Carolina Coaching Staff

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina head baseball coach Bobby Moranda this week announced the addition of former volunteer coach Bruce Johnson to his full-time coaching staff. Johnson, who spent the past two seasons as the volunteer assistant, served as the head coach of the Wilson Tobs last summer in the collegiate wooden bat Coastal Plain League.
