Top 100 Countdown: 33. Bobby Wahl (Ole Miss)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 33 with Ole Miss sophomore RHP Bobby Wahl. The Springfield, virginia native attended West Springfield High School where he was a three year letter winner under John James. He posted a 28-1 record with five saves for his career and a 1.53 ERA while striking out 284 and walking only 40 in 185.0 innings of work. He picked up several awards in high school including being named the 2010 All-State Player of the Year in Virginia and 2010 All-Met Player of the Year by the Washington Post.

Wahl worked primarily out of the bullpen as a freshman in 2011 making 18 appearances (one start) going 0-2 including four saves with a 4.80 ERA. He struck out 26 batters while walking 16 in 30 innings of work.

Wahl improved greatly in the summer with the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod Baseball League. He appeared in 16 games going 1-1 with six saves and an ERA of 1.23. In 23 innings of work, he improved greatly on his control striking out 39 batters while walking 11.
