Top 100 Countdown: 71. Jared King (Kansas State)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 71 with Kansas State sophomore Jared King from Dublin, Ohio and Jerome High School. As a senior in high school, he hit .574 (58-for-101) as a senior with 15 doubles, one triple, five home runs and 26 RBI while being named All-State. Read the rest of this entry »

Top 100 Countdown: 72. Scott Firth (Clemson)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 72 with Clemson junior RHP Scott Firth. The Buffalo Grove, Illinois native attended Adlai E. Stevenson School where he picked up three letters. He was named all-conference as a sophomore, junior, and senior while being named All-State as a senior. He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 36th round and 1076 overall selection. John Raynor added to UNCW Coaching Staff

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Following a six-year professional career, including a stint with the Pittsburgh Pirates, John Raynor has joined the UNCW baseball coaching staff as he completes his undergraduate degree.

Texas A&M Corpus-Christi releases 2012 Schedule

The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Baseball Team will play a total of 54 regular-season games during the 2012 season, including 10 games against teams who earned berths to last year’s NCAA Tournament, including Dallas Baptist, Rice, Texas State, Texas and Baylor. Western Michigan releases 2012 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan University baseball team has released its 2012 season schedule, featuring 16 home games and a number of highly competitive non-conference contests. The Inside Pitch: Washington State

In 2011, Washington State was coming off back to back Regional Final appearances and entering the season with a preseason national ranking – but the resulting season went differently than they planned. The Cougars finished the campaign at a disappointing 28-28, with only a 10-17 in Pac-10 play. Things are looking different this year for the Cougars under eighth year head coach Donnie Marbut. Texas Tech releases 2012 Schedule

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech head baseball coach Dan Spencer announced the Red Raiders 2012 baseball schedule Tuesday morning.

The Red Raiders 56-game schedule is highlighted by 33 games at the newly renovated Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park, playing 32 games against 13 opponents that advanced to NCAA Regionals last season and with three games at the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park. Duke releases 2012 Schedule

DURHAM, N.C. – Series against nine teams that qualified for the 2011 NCAA Baseball Championship highlight the Duke baseball team’s 2012 schedule, as announced on Monday by head coach Sean McNally.

Duke will face nine squads that qualified for NCAA Regionals, four that advanced to an NCAA Super Regional and three – Texas, Virginia and North Carolina – that moved on to the 2011 College Baseball World Series. Read the rest of this entry »

Top 100 Countdown: 73. Bryan Radziewski (Miami, FL)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 73 with Miami (FL) sophomore LHP Bryan Radziewski. The Miami, Florida native attended Florida Christian School playing under Ernie Padron for his prep school baseball. He had an outstanding career going  28-6 on the mound while having a .468 batting average with 38 RBI and five homeruns. As a senior, he went 8-2 with a 0.87 ERA and striking out 107 batters. He helped lead the squad to a 24-5 record and a Regional Semifinal appearance.  Read the rest of this entry »

Seton Hall releases 2012 Schedule

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The defending BIG EAST Champion Seton Hall baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2012 season.

The Pirates will open the year with 11-straight road games including the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge, a trip to Knoxville for a three-game set with the University of Tennessee, and a double-elimination tournament at the University of Virginia. Read the rest of this entry »

ESPNU Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week

ESPNU Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week will return for its second year on ESPNU at 7:30 p.m. with eight weeks of SEC showdowns beginning March 22. The 2012 schedule will open with an NCAA National Championship rematch between defending champion South Carolina and Florida. College Baseball Live on ESPNU will preview the games each week at 7 p.m. from the Charlotte, N.C. studios.
