Exams are finished, papers have been printed, and the Paladins are on their way home for Thanksgiving break. It is a much needed break. Stephen F. Austin releases 2012 Schedule

Top 100 Countdown: 60. LJ Mazzilli (UConn)

MLB Changes Draft Rules
Major League Baseball announced changes to the Draft Rules effective for the 2012 MLB Draft. The major difference is a very strict slotting system that recommends teams to spend a certain amount of money on their draft picks. Seton Hall recaps Fall Practice
Seton Hall eighth year head coach Rob Sheppard recently sat down with the school’s media relations department to discuss how fall practice went after the Pirates won the 2011 Big East Tournament and made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since the 2001 season. South Carolina’s Chad Holbrook named the 2011 ABCA/Baseball America Assistant Coach of the Year

Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina associate head baseball coach Chad Holbrook has been named the 2011 American Baseball Coaches Association/Baseball America Assistant Coach of the Year. Now in his fourth season as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the baseball program, Holbrook serves as hitting instructor, oversees the Gamecock offense, including base running and the short game, and is the third base coach. Texas SID Thomas Dick raising money for Cancer Research
It is rare that I break the constant college baseball updates but Texas SID Thomas Dick is raising money for Prostate Cancer Foundation and LiveStrong by growing a mustache for the month of November. He is joined by many professional athletes including Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas ridiculous mustache and many others with the movement. Longtime NYIT Head Coach Bob Hirschfield Retires

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Nov. 21, 2011) – After 30 plus years of coaching the New York Institute of Technology baseball team, Bob Hirschfield announced his retirement in late September. Plans are being sought out to keep Hirschfield on staff in an advisory position. Current assistant coach Michael “Butch” Caulfield will serve as interim head coach for the upcoming 2012 season. Hello everyone! It’s been a while. I’m back blogging for my second year. I guess people were shocked that I could put together a coherent sentence, so here I am back at it. For those of you who did not read my blog last season (I’m sure that’s the majority of people) let me introduce myself. My name is Ray Ricker and this is my 5th season as the Associate Head Baseball Coach at DII Post University in Connecticut, which plays in an ALL wood bat conference (C.A.C.C.) I have managed for the past three summers in the N.E.C.B.L. I coach the hitters, catchers, and handle the recruiting at Post University. We continue the countdown today at number 61 with Cal State Fullerton outfielder Michael Lorenzen. The Anaheim, California native attended Fullerton High School where he was a four time letterwinner under Head Coaches Joe Secoda and Marc Price. As a senior in 2010, he hit .455 with 8 home runs and 35 RBI. He was honored as an all-county and all-state team selection in addition to being named the Freeway League MVP. Houston Baptist to join Southland Conference
Houston Baptist will join the Southland Conference according to a press release from the conference office. As we were the first to report on October 12th, we stated that the conference was in heavy negotiations with Houston Baptist and Abilene Christian. Right now, there has been no news on Abilene Christian possibly making the move to Division 1. The full press release from the conference is below.
