Major League Baseball announced changes to the Draft Rules effective for the 2012 MLB Draft. The major difference is a very strict slotting system that recommends teams to spend a certain amount of money on their draft picks. Teams will be heavily penalized with loss of future draft picks if they don’t follow the rules.
