VMI releases 2012 Schedule

Lou Palmisano added to Miami (FL) Coaching Staff

Coral Gables, Fla. – Lou Palmisano has been selected as the new volunteer assistant coach for the University of Miami baseball team, announced Wednesday afternoon by head coach Jim Morris. Palmisano is set to begin his duties immediately.
Palmisano comes to UMiami after spending the last year as an assistant coach at Broward College. While there, he worked primarily with hitters and catchers. Read the rest of this entry »

We continue the countdown today at number 91 with Vanderbilt sophomore outfielder Tony Kemp. He is a 5’6 165 pounder out of Nashville, Tennessee while attending Centennial High School. Kemp was a four year letter winner in football and baseball while being named All-District selection three years, All-Tournament Team as a junior and senior, and First team All-Midstate as a junior and senior. Updated With Conference Response: Oral Roberts set to move to Southland Conference
UPDATED: The Southland Conference has responded to the report of Oral Roberts joining their league with the following:
“STATEMENT ON MEMBERSHIP FROM THE SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE: The presidents of the Southland Conference member institutions continue to actively review and formulate plans for possible membership additions. While they are enthusiastically engaged, the presidents have chosen to work in a confidential manner, and will continue to do so throughout the process.”

We are about a month into fall ball here at URI. Luckily, the Rhode Island weather has cooperated so far and we’ve been able to be outside almost every day that we can – hopefully I didn’t just jinx us. Even on days when it does rain, we are able to utilize our brand new hitting barn, which is an unbelievable resource for the team.
