Western Kentucky releases 2012 Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky University baseball team and head coach Matt Myers announced the schedule for the 2012 season Thursday. Highlighting the slate are a total of 16 games against teams that made the NCAA tournament last year, including three-game home series against FIU and Troy, along with hosting the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Top 100 Countdown: 84. Austin Wilson (Stanford)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 84 with Stanford sophomore outfielder Austin Wilson. The 6’3 230 pounder from Los Angeles, California played his high school baseball at Harvard-Westlake. He had a fantastic prep career which led to him being named a two-time All-American, three-time All-CIF and three-time all-league first team pick. He finished his career by batting .485 with 52 runs, 13 doubles, 2 triples, five homers, and 21 RBIs as a senior. Read the rest of this entry »

Baseball America releases 2011-2012 Recruiting Class Rankings

Baseball America has released their 2011-2012 Recruiting Class rankings for the class that will be eligible for the start of the 2012 season. Leading the pack is the Vanderbilt Commodores which got a first round pick in Tyler Beede among other talented players to Nashville. The rest of the top five is filled out by Texas, Southern Miss, NC State, and Ole Miss.

North Carolina releases 2012 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina baseball team will face another challenging slate in 2012 as the Tar Heels will play 23 games against teams that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Carolina will host NC State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Boston College and Virginia Tech in league play and will take to the road to face Clemson, Maryland, Miami, Virginia and Duke. We continue the countdown today at number 85 with Missouri junior righthanded pitcher Eric Anderson. The Highlands Ranch, Colorado native attended Mountain Vista High School where he was a perfect 10-0 with an ERA of 1.71 and 89 strikeouts as a senior. NC State releases 2012 Schedule

The NC State Wolfpack announced their 2012 schedule after going 35-27 overall and 15-15 in ACC play.
