Cal-State Fullerton 10 Vanderbilt 8
Nashville, Tenn. – Greg Velazquez had two hits and three RBI and Austin Kingsolver had three hits and drove in two as Cal State Fullerton beat Vanderbilt, 10-8, in a nine-inning fall scrimmage Saturday morning at Hawkins Field.
The Titans are midway through their official fall workout period and made the trip to Nashville, Tenn., for a two-game practice series with the Commodores. Vanderbilt is wrapping up their official practice schedule this weekend with the Titans. Read the rest of this entry »
Miami (OH) releases 2012 Schedule

OXFORD, Ohio — Games with national powers Mississippi and Miami (Fla.), plus the hosting of the annual Joe Nuxhall Classic, highlight the 2012 Miami RedHawk baseball schedule, head coach Dan Simonds announced today. Boston College participates Red Bandanna Run

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team took part in the seventh annual Welles Remy Crowther Red Bandanna Run on October 15 to support the Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust.

Louisville releases 2012 Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Highlighted by 33 home games, a third straight appearance in the Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge and 14 games against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season, the Louisville baseball team released its 2012 schedule on Friday afternoon.
Additionally, the Cardinals will host West Coast Conference foe Pepperdine for a three-game series, Southeastern Conference opponent Ole Miss for a two-game set and five BIG EAST Conference series. Louisville will also travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play in the Alabama Tournament hosted by the Crimson Tide while also playing home-and-home midweek games against regional rivals Kentucky, Indiana and Western Kentucky. HUNTINGTON, W.VA. – The Marshall baseball team started the annual Fall World Series on Friday afternoon and Coach Waggoner’s green team ran away with it in the end against Coach Blain’s black team, 5-2. New Mexico State Releases 2012 Schedule

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - After winning the 2011 NCAA batting title and winning 30-plus games for the third straight season, New Mexico State head baseball coach Rocky Ward has released the 2012 schedule, which features 31 home games and six teams that made it to the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
NM State produced a 34-24 record in 2011 while wining 26 of those games at home in Presley Askew Field. The Aggies face six teams that reached the NCAA Regionals in 2011 including Sacred Heart and Kent State at home. Head coach Rocky Ward expects his team to be competitive with every opponent in 2012.
James Madison to host CAA Championships in 2012 and 2013

HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 20, 2011 –Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park, which is entering its third season as the home of James Madison baseball, was selected this week as the host site for the 2012 and 2013 Virginia 529 CAA Baseball Championships.
“We are very pleased to serve as the host for the 2012 and 2013 Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Championships,” stated Jeff Bourne, Director of Athletics at JMU. “This event has been a very exciting and well-run championship over the past eight years at UNCW. The Harrisonburg community is a very vibrant and supportive community for baseball, and we look forward continuing the tradition of hosting a great championship in our newly-opened facility. Arizona Baseball move seen as a “Significant” Upgrade
Arizona Wildcats baseball program will be moving to Hi-Corbett Field for the 2012 season as the Wildcats look to invest some life into their program. Miami (FL) opens up Fall Practice
The Miami (FL) baseball program opened up fall practice on Tuesday with both Peter O’Brien and Erik Erickson getting the most attention.
O’Brien spent his first three years of college as a member of the Bethune-Cookman program. Entering last season, O’Brien was named to the CBD Top 100 countdown at 18. After the 2010 season, the Colorado Rockies selected him in the third round but didn’t sign. He also had some issues at home so he decided to transfer to Miami (FL) and appeal to the NCAA for immediate eligibility.
