According to sources close to the situation, Virginia sophomore outfielder Mark Podlas has left the program. Podlas was a highly regarded recruit out of high school as he was ranked as the 83rd best player in Baseball America’s Top 100 and was a two-time  Northeast Perfect Game All-Star.

Podlas only saw action in two games in 2011 picking up a walk in his only plate appearance. He could be a highly regarded transfer for coaches as he has not decided where he will continue his career at this time.

No Darrell, your comment was garbage and relects your immaturity. Thankfully, you do not reflect the views of the majority of the ‘Hoos’ baseball fanbase.  Mark is a very good player that will certainly be a positive addition to just about any roster and we wish him well.

He was a highly regarded recruit that dealt with the transition to the college game. Hope he does well.
