Top 100 Countdown: 92. Joey DeMichele (Arizona State)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 92 with Arizona State junior infielder/outfielder Joey DeMichele. He is from Phoenix, Arizona attending Arcadia High School where he was a four year letter winner. He hit .550 with 13 home runs and a record 1.130 slugging percentage as a senior.

As a freshman in 2010, he saw very limited action appearing in only eight games getting a hit and an RBI. Joey became a regular in the lineup for the Sun Devils in his sophomore season playing in 52 games (49 starts) hitting .368 with nine homers and 51 RBI. His .368 batting average won him the Pac-10 batting crown. He picked up several awards including being named a First Team ABCA All-American, a Third Team Baseball America All-American, a First Team ABCA All-West Region choice and a First Team All-Pac-10.

He spent the summer of 2011 in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. Joey played in 36 games hitting .200 hitting two homers and driving in 14 runs.
