Here is your October 10th Fall Ball Update.

Nebraska: White 12 Red 7

Lincoln – The White team polished off a three-game sweep of the Red squad on Saturday in the Nebraska baseball team’s annual Red-White Series by a score of 12-7. Michael Pritchard, Kash Kalkowski and Michael Siwa each had three hits for the Whites, including two doubles and two RBIs for Kalkowski, as well as a triple and double for Siwa. The Red’s Chad Christensen blasted the first and only home run of the series with a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning for his only hit of the game.

Tyler King started for the White team and gave them a solid four innings, as he gave up just four hits and struck out four. Five other pitchers combined to work the final five innings, including freshman Aaron Bummer, who got the win.

Northwestern: Varsity 5 Alums 0

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Baseball culminated its annual Alumni Weekend at Rocky Miller Park on Sunday with the current Wildcats taking down the alumni team, 5-0.

Seven pitchers hurled a shutout inning apiece for the current squad. Francis Brooke, Brandon Magallones, Jack Quigley, Zach Morton, Dan Tyson, Paul Snieder and Kyle Ruchim all saw action on the mound.

The current ‘Cats took the l-0 lead in the bottom of the second as Geoff Rowan reached on a leadoff single, moved to third on a hit by Colby Everett and scored on a squeeze bunt by Hamilton Wise.
