USC names Jason Brown Volunteer Assistant

LOS ANGELES- Jason Brown, a former USC and professional baseball player has been named a Trojan volunteer assistant coach, USC head coach Frank Cruz announced today.

Brown joins assistant head coach Dan Hubbs and assistant coach Gabe Alvarez on the 2011-12 coaching staff. Hubbs and Alvarez both played at USC. Read the rest of this entry »

Dennis Machado Named Pitching Coach at Northridge

Michigan names Steve Merriman as Pitching Coach

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan baseball program and head coach Rich Maloney have announced today (Wednesday, Sept. 14) that Steve Merriman will be joining the Wolverine staff as a pitching coach. Merriman, who has more than 15 years experience as a coach and scout, will handle the pitching coach duties. He replaces Matt White, who took a position with the Boras Corporation. Georgia releases 2012 Schedule

ATHENS—-The Georgia Bulldog baseball team will have the luxury of 37 home games in 2012 after spending a majority of last year on the road with the nation’s toughest schedule.

The college baseball season begins Feb. 17, and Georgia will start with a three-game series against Presbyterian College. The Bulldogs open the season with an eight-game home stand and will play 21 of their first 22 games at Foley Field. Georgia’s lone road game in this stretch will be at Western Carolina for a single game on February 29. Read the rest of this entry »

UNLV releases 2012 Schedule

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team released its schedule for the upcoming 2012 season Wednesday afternoon, announced second-year head coach Tim Chambers.

The Rebels will play 29 of their 55 regular-games in the friendly confines of Wilson Stadium, including a 13-game stretch in early March. UNLV will also square up against four teams that qualified for postseason play a year ago, including conference rivals TCU and New Mexico for six games apiece. Read the rest of this entry »

Nebraska’s Logan Ehlers leaves Baseball Program

Nebraska sophomore LHP Logan Ehlers has left the Huskers baseball program today. Ehlers was suspended last season for the first 34 games last season after having an advisor representing him during negotiations in the 2010 MLB Draft with the Toronto Blue Jays. Ehlers ended up appearing in seven games in 2011 going 1-3 with a 4.30 ERA and had 20 strikeouts in 29.1 innings pitched.

“We wish Logan nothing but the best of luck in the future,” Nebraska head coach Darin Erstad said. “We will continue to support him in any way we can.”

Missouri and Iowa to face off for Joplin Little League

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou baseball program has teamed with the Daniel Boone & Diamond Council Little Leagues, BC Baseball and The Callaway Bank to host the University of Iowa in pair of fall exhibition games that will benefit the Joplin Little League program in its efforts to rebuild the program following the devastating tornado that hit the area back in May. James Madison Spanky McFarland extended through 2015 Season

UCF Selects Skanska & DLR Group for Baseball Stadium Expansion

Skanska USA Building, Inc. and DLR Group will serve as the design-build team that will perform all design and construction services for the project. Nike releases all teams from Bat Contracts
