Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech heading to the PAC-12?

Kirk Bohls and Alan Trubow of The Austin American Statesman are stating that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State are currently in negotiations to join the PAC-12. USA Under 18 National Team 9 UNC-Wilmington 2

WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Drew Farber homered and knocked in both runs as UNCW fell to visiting Team USA, 9-2, in a fall baseball exhibition game on Saturday at Brooks Field.

Team USA, backed by home runs off the bats of Jesse Winker and Joey Gallo, took advantage of six Seahawk errors in the field by plating five unearned runs. Read the rest of this entry »

CBD Exclusive: Cal State Bakersfield and Dallas Baptist Accept WAC Invitation

College Baseball Daily has confirmed that current independents Cal State-Bakersfield and Dallas Baptist have accepted the Western Athletic Conference’s membership invitation as associate members in baseball.  The Roadrunners and Patriots will join the league in beginning in the 2012-2013 academic year and will begin play in the league in the 2013 season.  The two teams will be affiliate members initially for two seasons during which time they will evaluate long term membership. Pitt and Syracuse heading to the ACC

CBHoF honors Red Sox manager Terry Francona

The College Baseball Hall of Fame honored 2011 inductee Terry Francona before their game on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Loyola Marymount named Danny Ricabal as Pitching Coach

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Danny Ricabal, who has spent the last six years serving as a pitching coach at various levels in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization, has been named pitching coach for the LMU baseball team, it was announced by Head Coach, and Ricabal’s former teammate at Cal State Fullerton in 1994, Jason Gill. Ricabal most recently guided the Inland Empire 66ers to the wild card round of the 2011 Class-A Advanced Southern Division playoffs. Siena adds Michael Kellar to Coaching Staff

Since 1970, Tony Rossi has called the shots for the Siena baseball team, but this year his staff will have a whole new look. Michael Kellar has been hired as the Saints’ volunteer assistant coach, completing an entirely new group of assistants hired this summer after Siena’s run to the MAAC title game in May. UMES completes Coaching Staff

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Head coach Will Gardner has announced his additions to the coaching staff for the 2012 season. John O’Neil joins the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as an assistant coach plus Luis Mena returns to serve as a student assistant for the Hawks.
