Former Quinnipiac baseball player Mickey Amanti is spending his final year of collegiate eligibility playing football at Division 2 Southern Connecticut State. Last season, Amanti lead the team in batting average (.306), hits (57) and runs (31) during his senior season but decided to spend his last year of college sports on the gridiron.

“Football was always in the back of my mind,” Amanti said. “When I was winding down at Quinnipiac, I figured I’d give it a try. I knew I had the abilities.”
