Here are your Scrimmage Updates for September 22nd as North Carolina held a intrasquad scrimmage while Butler faced off with the Ontario Blue Jays.

UNC Scrimmage: Navy 5 Blue 5

Chapel Hill, N.C.– The Navy and Blue squads played for eight and a half innings on Thursday in a scrimmage that ended in a 5-5 tie. The scrimmage featured six extra base hits, including a Tom Zengel solo home run.

The Blue squad held a 3-0 lead after three innings before Navy took the lead with a four-run top of the fourth. Blue tied the score a 4-4 on Michael Russell’s infield single in the sixth before Zengel’s blast gave Navy a 5-4 lead in the seventh. Blue tied things up in the bottom of the eighth when Parks Jordan lead off the inning with a triple, then scored on a Jacob Stalllings sacrifice fly.

The scrimmage ended after 8 1/2 innings, so the home Blue squad had one less inning at the plate. Blue swears that would have won in the bottom of the inning, while Navy doesn’t think so.
