College Baseball Daily has learned that Matt Hagen will be named the volunteer assistant coach at Liberty. Hagen fills the spot on the staff with the recent departure of Adam Ward who was named pitching coach at Charleston Southern. Hagen is well familiar in Lynchburg as he played at Liberty getting drafted in the 12 round by the Seattle Mariners in 2002.
Matt has spent the last ten years in minors reaching as high as Double A before spending the last four seasons with the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League.
