Since the Cape Cod Baseball League announced their 2011 All-Star Game rosters on Friday, lets take a look at what conferences and college programs have had the most success this summer. The leading conference this year is the Pac-10 conference which features eight players from seven different school. Coming in second place is the SEC which has six players from four different schools. Interesting enough, the ACC and Big East conference both have four players in the game this year which speaks to how strong the the Big East over the last couple of seasons. Jacksonville State’s Ben Waldrip set to sign with Kansas City Royals
Jacksonville State’s first baseman Ben Waldrip will sign with the Kansas City Royals after the Cape Cod All-Star Game on July 29th according to the Cape Cod Times.
The newspaper tweeted out the following on Saturday evening.
Firebirds’ Ben Waldrip will be signing with the Royals after All-Star game, according to Royals director of scouting Lonnie Goldberg.

BIG EAST Baseball Championship to Return to Clearwater, Fla., in 2012 and 2013

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – BIG EAST baseball fans will find familiar surroundings for the league’s upcoming postseason tournaments as the conference has chosen Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla., as the site of the 2012 and 2013 BIG EAST Baseball Championships.
Bright House Field, which is regarded as one of the finest minor league playing and practice facilities in the nation, will host its sixth and seventh BIG EAST Championships. Oregon State’s Pat Casey looking into Retirement
OregonLive.com is reporting that current Oregon State head coach Pat Casey has had conversations about retiring from coaching and accepting an administrative job at the school. Casey has coached the last 17 years in Corvallis winning the NCAA National Championship in both 2006 and 2007. Butler Baseball Announces Coaching Changes

INDIANAPOLIS – Head coach Steve Farley and the Butler baseball program have announced coaching staff changes for the upcoming 2012 season. DJ Throneburg, who joined the staff this past season, will now serve as the program’s top assistant coach. Michael Dalton and Brian Hiscox have also been added to the staff. Duke’s Marcus Stroman continues to Impress
Duke rising junior RHP/infielder Marcus Stroman spent this summer as a member of the USA Collegiate National Team. He appeared in seven games totaling 8.1 innings of innings without giving up a single hit while walking one batter. This is the second straight summer that Stroman has impressed as in 2010, he played with the Orleans Firebirds in the Cape Cod League. He didn’t give up a run then either in 15 appearances (one start) in 25.0 innings pitched. He allowed 10 hits while striking out 32 batters.
